Working Opportunities
In many situations, individuals with autism have difficulty finding/sustaining work or are relegated to performing meaningless tasks day after day. At Erik’s Retreat, we recognize that these individuals have the talents and skills necessary to engage in careers that are much more personally rewarding. To that end, we’ll offer gratifying on-site working oppportunities for residents along with many off-site career possibilities developed in partnership with the neighboring community.
At Erik’s Ranch & Retreats, we offer unique career choices related to running our urban retreat for both voluntourists and guests:
- Sous Chef
- Historian
- Environmental Researcher
- Gardener
- Tour Guide
- Equestrian Groom
- Personal Concierge
- Grounds or Pool Maintenance
- Animal Care Assistant
- Artist in Residence
- Event Planner
At both the Ranch & Retreats and in the community, we’ll create partnerships so that local experts can work side by side with our residents, mentoring their success. The ultimate goal is to build skills and continued independence, aligning residents with the things they love to do and helping them learn to the best of their ability.
