Kathryn enjoys all things beautiful and elegant: people, wildlife, land/waterscapes, art, music, dance, writing, collaboration, world travel, solutions and products that simplify and enhance the world, new experiences, joy, acts of compassion and responsibility.

Strengths: Creative solution provider, courageous, tenacious.

Opportunities: Practicing patience and learning to celebrate daily successes and the individuals making them happen.

Nate is a Wisconsinite transplanted to Minneapolis. He comes from Chippewa Falls, WI, and will make sure to let you know how much he loves cheese and the Green Bay Packers.  He loves spending time with his family, being outdoors as much as possible, traveling the country from coast to coast, trying every restaurant possible, always exploring new cultures and ways of life, will never stop searching till he finds the world’s best chicken wing and will always put a smile on your face. He is a jack of all trades and always up for new and exciting adventures.

Strengths: Open-mindedness, always finds the positive in a situation and remain optimistic, caring.

Opportunities: Learning how to share the load and becoming the best version of himself while realizing things don’t always happen overnight.

Cat is an Edina native and spent the last two years traveling both Europe and the U.S.  After graduating from the University of Iowa with a double major in French and cinema production, she lived in Lyon, France, and taught English to French high school students.  Once she was back stateside, Cat traveled around the country working as a chapter consultant for Alpha Chi Omega.  She loves to travel, but is happy to be grounded and once again living in the land of 10,000 lakes!  In addition to traveling, Cat enjoys watching movies, hiking and backpacking, speaking French, and attempting to learn new languages.  If she’s listening to music, there’s a good chance it’s a hit from the 90s, and she’s probably singing along.

Strengths: Good listener, knowing when to let go, and being curious about everyone she meets

Opportunities: Recognizing her limitations, and expanding her photography and video skills

 

BETH OLSONbeth

Beth has been volunteering for Erik’s since its inception and officially joined the team in August 2016.  She loves to sing and is a 10 year member of the Minneapolis based, award winning  City of Lakes Chorus.  She is a practicing yogini, avid gardener and reader and enjoys the MN outdoors walking and biking.

Strengths: Organized, strong work ethic, perfectionist.

Opportunities: Letting go of perfection and taking pride in the little things.

A born and raised Minneapolitan with an affinity for creative writing, the New Mexican landscape, photography, British royal gossip, roller blading around our lakes, classical music, ballet, the great outdoors, slapstick humor and moments of quiet grace, Maija eagerly seeks and celebrates daily joys. She learned to ski at the age of two and her heart is forever on the slopes of the Colorado Rockies. She parlays her love of skiing and helping others as an alpine ski coach with Special Olympics Minnesota. She also participates in Latvian folk dancing and maintains a comedic blog based upon animals.

Strengths: Creativity, practicing loving-kindness, napping extraordinaire.

Opportunities: Learning to let go and being less critical of herself.

 

 

KERI TAYLOR

When not helping others, she loves spending time with her son, Todd, exploring the Twin Cities which often includes Legos and superheroes. She enjoys making jewelry, giving gifts, pop culture and fashion.

Strengths: Empathy, passion for helping others, organization, attention to detail.

Opportunities: Staying focused on the big picture while working through the details, stepping outside of her comfort zone/routines.

 

 

 

 

 

ERIN MUSSER

Erin has already amassed 10 years’ experience working with children and adults with special needs. It is truly her calling and passion in life to be working so closely with these individuals and to make a lasting impact on their lifelong development.

Strengths:"There is a silver lining to every cloud!" Erin has the innate ability to find the positive in virtually any situation. She always has a smile on her face and she tries to "never let anyone come to you without leaving happier."

Opportunities: Erin has always had a strong drive to be the best person she can be. Often times she jokes that her biggest competitor in the game of life is herself. A perfectionist, Erin consistently works on not having to be perfect at everything and to be less critical of herself. A quote that she tells herself often is "you can do anything, but you can't do everything."

 

BETHANY WALDRON

Watching Erik’s Retreat members share their passions with guests on these tours has been a joy and inspiration. A busy mother of three boys, Bethany enjoys nurturing their passions as well, such as robotics, soccer, attending theatrical productions and finding creative ways to steer them away from their game consoles. She also enjoys imitating her favorite characters from “Saturday Night Live.”

Strengths: Sense of humor, never met a stranger, positive outlook, organized and creative.

Opportunities: Time management and resisting eating dessert after a meal.

 

 

 

 

 

ANNE WILLIAMS

engrossed in a novel, Anne’s true passion is helping individuals affected by autism reach their fullest potential by teaching them independence and communication skills.

Strengths: Compassion, patience, open-mindedness.

Opportunities: Being more spontaneous and stepping outside of her comfort zone.
